New Hampshire Reads AmeriCorps Program is a statewide service program that promotes reading with young children (birth through third grade) and families. AmeriCorps members bring fun reading, writing and arts activities to locations like Early Head Start, Head Start, child care sites, WIC clinics, before/lunchtime/after-school programs, parent-child programs, shelters and libraries.
2006 - 2007 Job Opportunities Members organize book drives, literacy festivals, parent workshops, and special projects that address the literacy needs within the service community. A special NH Reads project in Belknap and Merrimack Counties is Road Readers, a traveling literacy van that provides outreach to families in neighborhoods and other community settings.
