Head Start is a comprehensive child development and family support program for income-eligible families. Children attend a center-based program four or five days a week, and families receive support through their relationship with the center's family service worker.

The program services families one or two years before the child enters public school.

Services include:

  • Transportation to and from the Center
  • Health screenings
  • Dental examinations and follow-up care
  • Parenting programs
  • Parent involvement in advisory and policy setting groups
  • Nutritional education
  • Social services
  • Full-day, full-year child care (at some of our sites)
