Emergency Assistance Program

The Emergency Housing Program is a prevention program that helps keep families and individuals housed. The program assists eligible households with current and past-due rental costs, utility bills and car repairs.

Eligibility Requirements

• Ages Served: All ages; head of household must be at least 18 years old
• Income Guidelines: Current rent must not be more than 60% of their total income
• Geographic Area: Belknap and Merrimack Counties
• Program Cost: None
• Other Eligibility Requirements: Must complete application

Fast Facts

• Participants must provide rent documents, a lease, and copy a of the utility bill
• If assistance if for car repair they must have three quotes from a mechanic
• Program is based around the town/city Welfare Decision
